Rupayan Foundation

Founded in 2022, Rupayan Foundation is a committed initiative born out of the vision to transform lives caught in the grip of addiction and bring them back into the mainstream of society. Based in Tripura, our foundation is more than just a rehabilitation centre — it is a movement for healing, awareness, and social change.

At Rupayan, we believe that recovery is not just about treatment, but also about understanding, acceptance, and dignity. We work tirelessly to break the social stigmas surrounding addiction, rehabilitation, and HIV — issues that often go unspoken and untreated due to fear and misinformation. Our team is dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to heal and rebuild their lives with confidence and self-worth.

Rupayan Foundation, based in Agartala, Tripura, is committed to addressing the intertwined challenges of substance use disorders and HIV/AIDS through a comprehensive, community-centered approach. Our primary goal is to implement effective, sustainable interventions that promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals affected by drug addiction, while simultaneously ensuring access to critical HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, treatment, and adherence services.

We seek to systematically reach vulnerable populations—particularly injectable drug users (IDUs) and street-based addicts through targeted outreach, harm reduction strategies, structured rehabilitation services, and medical linkage. A central focus of our work is the timely identification of HIV-positive individuals, facilitation of their linkage to Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) centers, and the provision of continuous support to ensure adherence to ART regimens, including the re-initiation of treatment for individuals who have discontinued therapy.

Rupayan Foundation envisions a society where individuals vulnerable to substance abuse, particularly injecting drug users (IDUs), are empowered to overcome addiction, live free from stigma, and enjoy a life of health, dignity, and economic self-sufficiency. We aspire to build an inclusive community where effective prevention, rehabilitation, and reintegration strategies minimize the burden of HIV/AIDS and drug-related vulnerabilities.

Our long-term vision is to create a robust support system that not only addresses the immediate medical and psychosocial needs of addicts but also invests in their future by providing skill development, meaningful livelihood opportunities, and peer leadership roles. We believe that sustainable recovery is achievable when individuals are equipped with the tools to rebuild their lives and are given the opportunity to contribute positively back to society.

Rupayan Foundation is dedicated to addressing the interconnected challenges of drug addiction and HIV/AIDS among high-risk and vulnerable populations through a comprehensive, community-driven approach. Our mission focuses on prevention and early intervention, holistic rehabilitation, and timely linkage to HIV/AIDS care by combining outreach, harm-reduction strategies, psychosocial support, and sustained treatment adherence mechanisms to improve health outcomes and reduce transmission risks.

Beyond immediate care, we emphasize long-term recovery and reintegration by promoting skill development, livelihood opportunities, and peer-led community engagement. By empowering recovered individuals as peer counselors and advocates, and actively challenging stigma and discrimination, Rupayan Foundation seeks to build an inclusive and compassionate ecosystem where recovery is sustained, dignity is restored, and individuals are enabled to contribute meaningfully to society.
