BOOK FAIR PANEL DISCUSSION
Rupayan Foundation’s Director Shares Ground-Level Insights at 42nd Agartala Book Fair
The 42nd Agartala Book Fair 2024 became a meaningful space for dialogue and reflection as Mr. Malyaban Chakraborty, Director of Rupayan Foundation, took part in a Seminar cum Panel Discussion as a resource person, alongside other distinguished panelists.
Organised by the Directorate of Information & Cultural Affairs, Government of Tripura, the seminar was held at the International Fair Ground, Hapania. The session brought together voices from different walks of life to discuss pressing social realities and the role of culture, literature, and awareness in shaping a healthier society.
Speaking from years of hands-on experience, Mr. Chakraborty shared real-life observations from his work with individuals battling addiction. Rather than focusing only on statistics, he spoke about people—their struggles, their setbacks, and their courage to return to the light with the right support and treatment. His words reflected the core belief of Rupayan Foundation: that recovery is not just about medical care, but also about dignity, understanding, and acceptance.
The discussion highlighted how platforms like book fairs and cultural gatherings can become powerful spaces for social change. Mr. Chakraborty emphasized that conversations around addiction and rehabilitation must move beyond stigma and fear, and instead be rooted in empathy and collective responsibility.
Participation in such a prestigious panel is a recognition of Rupayan Foundation’s consistent work in the field of de-addiction, rehabilitation, and social reintegration. It also reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to engaging with society at every level—through treatment, awareness, and meaningful dialogue.
Rupayan Foundation extends its sincere thanks to the Government of Tripura and the organizers of the 42nd Agartala Book Fair for offering this important platform. Every such interaction strengthens the shared mission of building a society where recovery is possible and hope always has a place.
