Goal

Rupayan Foundation, based in Agartala, Tripura, is committed to addressing the intertwined challenges of substance use disorders and HIV/AIDS through a comprehensive, community-centered approach. Our primary goal is to implement effective, sustainable interventions that promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals affected by drug addiction, while simultaneously ensuring access to critical HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, treatment, and adherence services.

We seek to systematically reach vulnerable populations—particularly injectable drug users (IDUs) and street-based addicts—through targeted outreach, harm reduction strategies, structured rehabilitation services, and medical linkage. A central focus of our work is the timely identification of HIV-positive individuals, facilitation of their linkage to Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) centers, and the provision of continuous support to ensure adherence to ART regimens, including the re-initiation of treatment for individuals who have discontinued therapy.

In alignment with our rehabilitation objectives, Rupayan Foundation emphasizes the importance of economic empowerment and skill development for individuals in recovery. We are in the process of developing sustainable livelihood initiatives such as mushroom cultivation training programs, with the goal of providing dignified employment opportunities to recovering individuals. Furthermore, we aim to build the capacity of reformed beneficiaries to serve as peer counselors and outreach workers, thereby fostering a cycle of peer-led recovery, support, and community engagement.

Through an integrated strategy combining early intervention, medical and psychosocial support, skill development, and social reintegration, Rupayan Foundation is dedicated to contributing meaningfully to the objectives of the Tripura State AIDS Control Society and to the broader vision of a drug-free, healthier Tripura.
