A One Day Training Programme under Project “Mukti” was successfully organised on 20 July 2023 by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), West Tripura, Agartala, for the members of special units formed across different subdivisions of West Tripura District. The programme was held at the Conference Hall of the District & Sessions Judges Court, West Tripura, with the objective of strengthening coordinated efforts towards de-addiction, rehabilitation, legal awareness, and social support.
Project Mukti is a multi-stakeholder initiative involving advocates, medical officers, social workers, NGOs, and PLVs, aimed at addressing substance abuse through legal support, medical intervention, counselling, and community-based rehabilitation.
Mr. Malyaban Chakraborty, Director of Rupayan Foundation, is an active member of Project Mukti, representing the NGO sector in the special units constituted under the project. Through his association, he continues to contribute significantly by sharing field-level experiences, rehabilitation strategies, and counselling-based approaches for individuals struggling with addiction.
During the programme, discussions focused on inter-departmental coordination, community outreach, rehabilitation pathways, and the importance of long-term social reintegration for persons affected by substance abuse. The participation of Rupayan Foundation through its Director reflects its continued commitment to working alongside legal and administrative institutions to create a more inclusive, supportive, and addiction-free society.
